Reservations:

The Hostel is strictly 18-35 years; we are above a licensed premises. We require an Australian issued-ID or International Passport from each guest to be presented upon check-in, no exceptions.
No refunds for cancelled bookings.
All room extensions must be paid for up front.
We do not accept any late payments.
Check-out time is 10am, late fees apply.
Overnight guests are not allowed; you will be penalised.
Long-term stay payments are to be paid a week in advance.

Christmas & New Years 2025-26:

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S 2025/2026: All bookings between 23rd December and 2nd January are NON-REFUNDABLE. 

All bookings between 26th December and 2nd January are subject to a 7-NIGHT MINIMUM STAY. 

Payment will be processed within 72 hours of booking and if the card cannot be charged then your booking will be cancelled. 

Please also note that our reception will be closed to arrival and departures on 25th December, 31st December and 1st January. No check-ins or outs will be allowed on these dates. If your booking contains a check in/out scheduled for those dates then it will be subject to immediate cancellation.

Building:
Security door (first floor) should not be propped open at any time
No tampering with fire equipment or detectors, fines apply
Clean up after yourself in the kitchen
Food bags must be labelled with name, room, and departure dates
Smoking area is located in the alley to the left of the building

Smoking in the building or fire exit will result in a fine and your removal from our premises. Setting off the fire alarm results in a $2,000 fine.

No alcohol allowed in residential areas or street
Alcohol purchased from Hotel Downing must remain within the bar
Please enter and exit the building and main stairwell quietly as to not disturb local residents and guests
